Maersk
Maersk provides integrated logistics services, combining ocean, inland and air freight with warehousing, customs clearance and supply-chain management. It serves small and large businesses across industries including retail, automotive, technology and healthcare. Maersk Go lets customers book, track and manage shipments online, while API and electronic data interchange services connect logistics information across business systems. Customers can buy individual services or combine transport, storage and customs operations through one logistics partner.
Founded in Svendborg, Denmark, in 1904 by Peter Mærsk Møller and A.P. Møller, the company grew from steamship operations into container shipping, launching its first fully containerised service in 1975. A 2016 strategic review began its transition from a diversified conglomerate toward integrated transport and logistics, now organised around Ocean, Logistics & Services, and Terminals. Vincent Clerc, who joined Maersk in 1998, became CEO in 2023.
Its Trade & Tariff Studio applies AI to customs planning: importers can submit natural-language questions, product photos and technical documents to explore classification, duties and compliance requirements. Launched in 2025 and expanded in 2026, it connects sourcing analysis and pre-entry review with customs execution and post-declaration audit support. This places trade intelligence alongside Maersk’s physical logistics services. In August 2026, the company reported more than 100,000 customers, operations in almost 130 countries and over 60 container-terminal locations.
